Rogers Parent Welcome Back Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians:

It is with great excitement that we welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year at Rogers Elementary School.  Here at Rogers, we have a rich tradition of school pride and we are so proud of our dedicated, experienced staff, enthusiastic learners, and involved parent community.

This year we will focus on teaching and learning.  As the urgency to support academic and social-emotional learning increases,  it becomes a top priority that we work together to ensure that our children reach their potential.  We believe that all of us – the school and the community – must work together to ensure success for all our students.  At Rogers, we are a small, community school.  We believe it takes a community to empower our children with the creative, intellectual, and critical thinking skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful.  With this in mind, we will focus on increasing student attendance this year.  Research shows that missing only two days a month can knock students off track for grade level proficiency.

We are excited to get back to some of our traditions this year like Fall Festival, After Schoo Programs, and our Variety Show.  You are invited to be an active participant at Rogers School.  Whether you are a classroom volunteer, a member of the PTA, a special event helper, or a member of one of our school committees, you are encouraged to be involved!

It is our goal to keep you informed of all that is taking place at school.  Up-to-date and additional information will be sent to you through “school messenger”, through email, dojo, and will appear on our school webpage.  Our district website will be updated this year, go check it out.  If you are on social media, we encourage you to join the Facebook Rogers PTA page, and on Instagram follow us at rogerselementary_cvesd.  If you have questions or concerns that arise at any time, please do not hesitate to give your child’s teacher or your admin team a call.  We look forward to having a long and rewarding relationship with you and your family.

We have an exciting year planned with in-person events, so hold on to your Pirate Hats...

Sincerely,

Janette Ridgels and Nicole Doughtery
